    Happy ANNIVERSARY

Today is the 52nd anniversary of my parents wedding. It is also the day I attended my Great-Aunt Katharine’s funeral. Quite the mix for a day. When you die at 96, you have mostly outlived your immediate family, and friends. She has one sister and one brother that could not make the trip. Her son, Kenny, is handling things as well as can be.

    Da Bats!

So I also have this origami thing going on. Keeps me busy during the down time. In reality there is no downtime, but I make room for origami anyway. It was “origami hour” with me and Michelle at my old place of employment. Somedays you just had to drop everything and spend time folding paper. My remote co-worker comes back to Denver once a month. I always send him home with little presents for his kids. This week they got to come with Dad. I had to oblige with what I know. Origami, and BATS! They don’t fly very well, so today… Well I’ll update with pictures soon

Within 30 min, while sitting on the floor (‘cause i didn’t want my back to the kitchen) out rushes the flying rat. It bounces off the screen and flutters back to the kitchen. I slam the lid to my laptop, grab the towel that I had been carrying around for two days, and again, nearly knocking the screen door from it’s tracks slam it open. A few round…

    UGH

I sit and write this at my local coffee shop… a mere 4ish blocks away. I arrived home from work, scouted my condo, grabbed my MacBook, and walked here. Why? you ask? Well, and after you read this, you’ll understand this… EIGHT FEET WIDE! It all started last night about 9. I was sitting quietly on my couch watching a library copy of Star Trek, DS9. The episode where, oh it doesn’t matter… Anyway, sitting there quietly I notice something in the reflection of the sliding glass door out to my patio. I turn back to look and this GIANT FUCKING BAT darted from my hallway and started for the…

    Left Turn

In the last two weeks I think I have encountered two transplants from Pennsylvania, at the same intersection. Both proceeded to turn left in front of oncoming traffic (ME) as soon as the light turned green. I tend to speed up when this happens. It’s fun to watch the clueless passenger’s eyes get really big. But I feel guilty that I freaked them out so much. When ever I encounter a bad driver, I have to force myself to think of my 94 year old Gram driving. Yes, she drove until she was 94. Sure, it was a small town. Sure it was only to Safeway and church. But still.…
